| Posted: | | | | I'm using the iPad app for my collection.
It crashes several times a day, when browsing my collection, scanning a barcode. It closes and I have to reopen it everytime. I think this is a stability problem.
Can someone please have a look and try to fix it. I'm pretty sure that other iPad (and iPhone) users will experience the same problem. I still think that this is a nice app and a must-have for DVD collectors.
Please advise?
Kind regards, Wim |

| Posted: | | | | I've been using it on my iPad 1 and iPhone since the app was released and only experienced one crash. What you are describing is definitely not normal behavior for the app.
Try running a database repair on the desktop version of DVDP and then sync the database back to your iPad. That should help in case the problem has something to do with your database.
Also try to completely close all your apps (remove them from the multitask bar) and then reboot your iPad by holding the home and standby buttons until the Apple logo appears.
Hopefully that will solve your problem. If not, please give more information. Which iPad (model and capacity) are you using ? How big is your database ? How many apps are installed on the iPad ? |

| Posted: | | | | I experience the same problem. The app V1.1.3 on iPad2 is unstable. The app aborts after a few seconds till minutes and keeps doing this all the time. I only entered 24 titles yet. I have no desktop version to do any repairs and syncs, that should not be necessary at all. The app is a program on it's own that must run flawless. |

| Posted: | | | | While I agree that the app should run flawless, remember that it does for the vast majority of us.
Did you try completely closing the app and rebooting the iPad ?
BTW, the desktop program is free and offers more functionality than the iOS version. |

| Posted: | | | | I hve 3500 profiles on my iPad 2 and it only once crashed. It was a certain profile with childprofiles. Everytime I tried to open it to see the childs it crashed. Removing this profile and sync it new did not help. Finally I did delete all from the iPad 2 and synched it new. After that it worked again perfect. So see when it crahes if you look always to a certain profile, perhaps with childs.
BTW: I now have the iPad 3 and DVDProfiler works also here perfect with my large collection. No problem till today.

| Posted: | | | | I have tested more on the crashes. Crashes are randomly. In collection i can tap on a movie and it crashes. I can tap on many movies before it crashes. Most of times it crashes within 6-7 taps. One strange thing i have two movies with a title beginning with a number ex ""300" and "88 minutes". I can select the movie "300" and see the info. But when i tap the movie "88 minutes" it crashes every time. I can not remove the two movies, because the arrow buttom only shows " add to collection". Not the remove option and the two other options. |

| Posted: | | | | To delete a profile from the app you need to choose the profile and then tap the action button. That should give you the "Remove from Collection" option. Obviously, to do this you have to be able to open the profile in the first place. I would suggest opening a support ticket with Invelos. (The support ticket might only work when you have a paid copy of the desktop version. In that case try contacting Invelos through the other contact options.) |

| Posted: | | | | Do you get any kind of error message ? At what stage (connecting, sending changes, reading database, copying profiles or copying images) does the syncing process stop ? Did you originally start your database on the iPad or the PC ? |

Hi, thanks SilentBob. My answers are: 1. No error messages, just end connection: normally during the profiles/images process copy 2. I started from the collection I have on PC (about 2.000 occurencies): first time slow to charge but all OK. I tried to update several times and, if it doesn't crash, after the message OKAY I checked the collection and several occurencies/images were lacking... My opinion is that probably the update process cannot handle more than XXX occurencies.... |

| Posted: | | | | I have 3,300 in my collection and have never had an issue. The first thing I would suggest is if you haven't run the database repair tool on your collection you should (Tools>Options>Utilities>Repair Profile Database). Once that is complete delete the collection from the pad and try a new sync. Let us know. | | | Tom
