| Posted: | | | | I'm trying to change a bunch of collection numbers to -1. I can get my set I want to alter loaded and display the collection numbers, but I'm at a loss for how to proceed from there. It appears that I changed many collection numbers in BulkEdit, but it doesn't show that way in DVD Profiler and many items show a collection number in BulkEdit that doesn't match the one in DVDP. I recently renumbered. Is there something I have to do to make BulkEdit see new numbers? How do I make the program set every value in the loaded set for a column to some given quantity? |

Sounds like you are describing several problems smashed into one scenario. - make sure you are using the latest version - the spreadsheet changes do not go into DVDP without pressing the menu "save validated changes" - changes you make in DVDP are not reflected in the spreadsheet unless you reload the data I also wonder if you are taking advantage of some of the usage info in the Bulkedit thread. I recall writing some details.. I just woke up. Was up all night watching a TV series marathon on Netflix. If this was not your issue, let me know. I mentioned reg edit before. You didn't say whether you tried this, or whether you know how to use it. Regedit find ".*" (no guotes) will match anything Replace with the value you want, and there is an All option Edit: As of 3.8, setting the collection number to "-1" will set the "none" checkmark. I just tried this. Also note there is a BulkEdit thread. I must have mis-remembered. Couldn't find a user guide. Maybe someday. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. | Posted: | | | | Jim in this same vein, I had a group of discs I want to change from CX995V3 to CX995V4 Changed and copied the first in the string and then selected the ones that needed changing. Ok here is an example of what I was trying to do. Edit a cell to what I wanted, copied it Selected the cells under it Multicopy, overright and this is what I got : I tried a few different selections groups and it went the same each time. Not selecting the first cell ( as is showing in this screen shot ) Like i mentioned in the other thread, I have a feeling it is something I am not doing right, I have used it before for this ( and it worked fine ) -R |

| Posted: | | | | Doesn't sound like the correct scenario, but I can't tell from your picture.
For example, there is no need to copy it before going to MultiCopy. It does the copying.
From what you described, I would have used Tool 2: simple find / replace all - from CX995V3 to CX995V4. Just start with the cursor in any cell of the Location column.
The message you got was from multi-cell copy, Tool 3, which you don't need in this case. If I remember correctly, it is because what you were trying to do was simply a windows copy/paste - not a multi-copy, or if the source (from) cell could not be identified.
Multi-cell copy is for when you want to copy a single value from one column to multiple cells in different columns. This is rare. And the first cell needs to be selected. Tool3 checks to see if a single cell is selected in any column. If so, it is designated "from". Then it checks to see if more than one cell is selected in other columns. If so, they are the target cells to which the from cell is copied. Anything else gives an error message.
You can also use Tool 4, Regular expressions edit. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! BDPFrog. | | | Last edited: by mediadogg |

| Posted: | | | | ok, then I miss understood how the multicopy worked. I was thinking info from 1 cell copied to many ( selected cells )
I'll tinker with it after I get the guns fixed.
