| Posted: | | | | What a mess. The IOS App crashes frequently when trying to browse collections. So, I thought I better try and back up the database.
The windows application freezes completely after syncing a few entries. There is a small dialog box that pops up when the ipad connects with no message and just an OK button. Looks like somoene left a debug statement in the code. After a while it crashes with a protection violation. Something I have not seen in professional software for many years.
I think I am soon at my limit to call it a day here. Just too many problems. But its a pity. It could be and should be good. |

| Posted: | | | | To be fair, it can be and is good. Sorry you're having so many issues. Hopefully you'll get them figured out soon. It's fair to get frustrated and leave. Just don't blame the software. Not entirely anyway. I've been using it over 10 years with very minimal issues as have hundreds of thousands of others.
Sorry that's not more helpful. But if you stick with it and get the issues resolved, I suspect you won't be disappointed. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Fair comments Mark. But I see lots of people with the same or similar problems on this forum, but not any resolution from the developers. Only they can know where these issues come from. |

| Posted: | | | | That's true that there are many people here posting about problems. But that's the nature of things. Very rarely do you see someone find the site, register and then post that everything is going as expected with no issues. That's just how things work here and pretty much every other site I've been to.
Anyway, I suggest opening a support ticket. With the errors you're seeing, that's probably your best bet. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks Mark. Of course, no one every says when things are going well (rarely at least). But, when you have significant problems, even if it is for a minority of people, then the definition of good support is to address those. The problems I am having are not "one user" problems but there is some systematic issue.
I now have the problem that a re-installation of Windows 7 avoids the crash on windows, but the IPad app crashes immediately when trying to sync. Sigh.
Since you mention opening a ticket. Well, despite the fact I have paid for the app, I dont seem to be able to open a ticket unless I pay more for a "premium account". Not so friendly to paying customers from the iPad.
Now, if I go through the app on the ipad and request "DVD profiler for iOS support" where does it takes me? Thats right ... the IOS technical support forum .....
What am I missing? |

| Posted: | | | | So you paid for the IOS app, but not for the main programme? I'm not sure if the app is supposed to run on its own (I don't have any IOS devices), but I do know that unregistered versions of the main programme have limited features if the collection you entered grows beyond 50 entries. From this Invelos webpage: "After the first 50 DVDs, you can continue to use DVD Profiler indefinitely, but some features will become unavailable until an Unlimited key is entered." Could this be causing your problems? |

| Posted: | | | | And after you do what MediaDogg suggests, you should be able to click on the Support button up above and open a ticket that way.
As for your comments about this being a bigger issue than a single user, that may well be true. Regardless, this company is pretty much a one man show. So on the one hand you have how support should work and on the other hand you have reality. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. And I haven't seen a single iOS icon in the forum, only desktop and mobile. |
