I heard from a well respected local reviewer  that it was  very boring.......
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Why "ironically"?

"Surprisingly" or "not surprisingly" perhaps but I don't see any irony.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

Not sure about your age or nationality, but it would be hard to explain the importance and impact of Lincoln on any "Baby Boomer" or older American. Some of the terminology, jokes and events would be at least difficult to fathom, but more likely absolutely meaningless to other nationalities. Not to comment on details, but I found the political processes to be quite interesting.

The question i want to ask everyone who has seen it thus far. Is it better than Glory?

There both very similar films as far i can tell. Both set in the American civil war, and thematically about the struggle for equality.
