Otherwise it would be a pain in the Ass to do this manually.

| Posted: | | | | First do the general setting for default currency: Menu: Extras -> Optionen -> System -> Währung set this value to € and all future additions will have € as default currency. For correcting the already existing false currency-entries Bulk Edit might be of some help | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

The Currency is easily changed, with BulkEdit as Lewis_Prothero already posted. Quote: Is there a Tool or something to convert all "wrong" Currencys to € with the right Exchange-Rate? The value on the other hand ... not so sure, I don't think that could be handled with Regular Expressions inside BulkEdit. Depending on how many discs are effected: 1) get CSVExport and export the prices in question. Calculate them in Excel, sort them descending, print them. Now load the profiles with prices in BulkEdit, sort descending and type away. 2) You could go the way of exporting them as XML, manipulate this with XSLT (I could be of assistance there) and re-import the XML with BulkEdit. However, I never did this before so I'd suggest to use extreme(!) caution if you go this road. Meaning: Backups, backups and to be safe: backups. cya, Mithi | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki |

| Posted: | | | | Just a word of caution if you decide to use BulkEdit (BE) Import. It was designed primarily as a way to create profiles, not update existing ones. I have always wanted to add the update function.
So, if you decide to use it, just be aware that it will overwrite some fields of an existing profile, even if those fields are not in the input stream, so either:
- Export the entire profile, change what you want and then re-import (time consuming - BE is slow) - or, Export (use CSV Export) just the profile ID, purchase price currency and value, make your changes and then re-import them. Then you will need to refresh the profiles from Invelos in order to repopulate the missing fields. In all of these operations, personal data (Location, Slot, Notes, etc. ) should be preserved.
At any rate, patience and caution are the ticket. Do some testing with a couple of profiles and make sure you have your procedures and the results well understood before doing a big batch.
Now finally, if you are not in a hurry, I will be willing to add the "update" feature to BulkEdit over the next couple of weeks. It would work just like the existing Import, except that it will assume that the profile already exists, and only update those fields found in the data stream. Actually I could use this feature myself. It would be roughly equivalent to a column copy / paste in Excel.
That also would make a nice separate plugin if somebody wants to do it - just let me know so I don't make duplicate efforts.
Important tip: When using Excel on ProfileID exported to CSV, Excel will convert the ProfileID to a floating point number. If you then save the file, it will be useless for BE. So, I recommend first editing the CSV with Notepad, and preceed the ProfileID with a single quote mark ('). This will cause Excel to treat the field as a text field and will preserve that on a save. I have written BulkEdit to ignore the quote mark when importing Profile ID. | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. Hey, new product!!! Then if it doesn't go well you can always restore your backup to what you have now. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

My comments were not intended to scare you, but in fact to help reduce the risk by giving detailed instructions. Good luck, whatever you decide. | | | Thanks for your support.
