| Posted: | | | | Apology if I'm reinventing the wheel.
I have DVD Profiler on a Windows 8 PC and have activated it for sharing. The share iIP address given is 192.168.56.1 and port 32847. Our network is 192.168.0.*
I have installed the mobile app on an IP and have been unable to connect to the PC. simple message is " Unable to Connect".
The IP address of the Ipad is 192.168.0.3,
Have tried to configure the port via my firewall. Have also tried to connect via the share name and not the IP address.
Would appreciate assistance..
Cheers John |

| Posted: | | | | The Share IP seems off, because it's not in the same subnet as the iPad which is unusual for a home network.
Press WIN+R on your Windows 8 computer and type "cmd" -> OK
now type "ipconfig" and press enter.
It will list all your network adapters and tehir IP adresses. Look for the one with 192.168.0.xxx | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | LOOL, I just encountered the very same phenomenon. DVDP tells me that my IP adress is 192.168.56.1 the very same as yours, which is impossible because my IP adress is 192.168.178.35. So, taking my own advice, I opened ipconfig and found: Quote:

VirtualBox is a free VirtualMachine from Oracle which I'm running locally. Thanks for that. I do have that application installed and use it from time to time for some apps that will not run under Windows 8. So how do I solve the issue with connecting? Do I need to install DVD Profiler in the VM environment?. Cheers John |

| Posted: | | | | As I said in my first answer.
Open either WIN+R -> cmd -> OK -> ipconfig or WIN+Q -> command prompt -> ipconfig
and then look for the IP address of your proper network card, not the simulated one of VirtualBox | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
