| Posted: | | | | Hello - I am a registered paid user of the Windows version and also the iOS and Android version of the app. I would like to sideload the Android version onto my BlackBerry Q10 but the app is locked and thus the APK cannot be extracted. Is there any way that I can get a link to download the APK directly to my PC? I can provide proof of purchase if necessary. Thanks! |

| Posted: | | | | So the normal app backup tools don't work then? I always back up my apps using Android Assistant but I haven't checked to see if it can actually be reinstalled that way. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | Most important thing if you want to install a bought app on several devices:
LogIn data to GooglePlay-Store must be identical on every device. Otherwise you won't be able to install. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

As Lewis said, login to google play from your blackberry and download the APP - all android apps can be downloaded to different devices. If the blackberry has been blocked from accessing google play then contact the people you got the phone from. | | | Paul |

But since not enough developers develop blackberry apps, the blackberry OS now has the ability to run android apps. However you have to convert them and copy them onto the device since they can't access the store. |

| Posted: | | | | Now this would mean that he won't be able to install the software on his Blackberry, since (AFAIK) the program needs an open connection to GooglePlay (or Amazon App-Store) to validate the license. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | How about Firefox OS? Ubuntu for phones? I know it's academic at this point but the situation will need some consideration in the future for those who wish to avoid the Googleopoly.. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | What is an Android phone? Or for that matter, what is Android? Is it just official google binaries, Samsung et al derivates or does Cyanogenmod and other free runners count too? The phone is just a piece of hardware that will run whatever OS I put on it. And if it will run Android apps it's got potential for legitimate sales, instead of shady 3rd party solutions. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | "Android" as I'm referring to, means the official Google binaries and all more or less official modifications, since they are all based on the Google-OS. An "Android-Phone" as I'm referring to, means a device on which Android (according to reference above) can be and/or is installed. This explicitly includes all non-phone devices (such as E-Book readers, Tablet-PCs, etc)
Since Android in no matter which version or modification has amazing capabilities of letting Google know how you are using your device I understand why many would want to avoid this. But using the Google OS in a modified state doesn't entirely prevent the OS from phoning home.
So if you want to avoid "Googleopoly" you should, in fact, avoid all Android-Mods. This, as a side-effect, would mean that applications explicitly developed for the Google-OS will not run. This is nothing new and could only be solved by developing a platform independent solution. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! | Posted: | | | | We already have non-Google operating systems running android apps which means platform independence. The only thing preventing certain paid apps from running seems to be the connection to the Google store registration. This could be solved through other means, such as in-app registration. I have nothing per se against Google but other systems are going to become more common in the future, which was my point. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
