BTW  Is there anyone here ( albeit by these dismal thread responses ( thanks Marty and Scott ) .. is there any here who maybe has never actually viewed  IAMMMMW  in its entirety or at least understood the  very importance of this comedy masterpiece from Stanley Kramer..?

I haven't watched it either. It's on my radar, but just something I've never gotten to.

I'll buy even though I have it laser 155 min. and BD 159 min. UPC 883904-242420 (Blu-ray).

IT'S A MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD is director Stanley Kramer's slapstick comic epic about greed in a modern society gone crazy. Kramer produced this film on a massive scale, employing a huge cast of Hollywood's top comic actors, utlized dozens of southern California locations and highlighted the breakneck action with some of the most numerous and hair-raising stunts in the history of the industry.

William and Tania Rose's story begins with a line of vehicles traveling on a desert highway outside of Palm Springs. The passengers include J. Russell Finch (Milton Berle) the president of a seaweed company, his unsympa­thetic wife Emmeline (Dorothy Provine), his irascible mother-in-law Mrs. Marcus (Ethel Merman), a dentist Melville Crump (Sid Caesar) and his wife Monika (Edie Adams), two men in a furniture van (Mickey Rooney and Jonathan Winters) and ex-con Smiler Grogan (Jimmy Durante). Grogan is in a real hurry and driving like a maniac. He loses control of his car and runs off the road. The old crook is dying as the passengers of the other vehicles gather around him. Just before he "kicks the bucket" (literally), he tells the group of strangers that he hid thousands of dollars of stolen cash "under the big W" in the Pacific coastal city of Santa Rossita, 250 miles away. These strangers, brought together by fate, rationally try to come up with plans for recovering the money and equitably dividing it up. But they instinctively cannot trust each other and start to argue. Eventually the temptation of "every man for himself" is too strong to resist and they all make a mad dash for their vehicles and start an incredible chase to "the Big W," not knowing exactly what it might be.

Add me to the list of buyers.  This one has always been a favorite!

This will be a double dip for me. I wish we could get a restored roadshow version of The Alamo as well, but I guess it's too late for that now. A crying shame.
