SO..my hard drive died and I had to redo everything from scratch. No big deal until I realize I've lost all my info on 1400+ dvd's. /cry. BUT I do have all the info still on my iphone mobile app. Is there a way to populate my DVD profiler using the info that's on my phone? Ive been afraid to mess with my phone because I would hate to link up and have my phone get wiped out updating to what's on my computer with is nothing at this time. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

did you not back up to invelos  and then download that saved info to your phone?  .. if so your library should be on the backup of http://www.invelos.com/dvdcollection.aspx/marta_hollen

If you couldn't get it using widescreen's method:

(1) What do you mean by "died"? Is it physically broken, or corrupted, or ... ?
(2) When you redid everything, did you use the same hard drive (reformat, etc), or a different one?

Upshot of these questions is that if you still have the old hard drive, and it still runs, albeit corrupted, you might still be able to recover some data. Tools such as "GetDataBack" take many hours to run, but you might get lucky. There are other more powerful (and more expensive) tools.

Sadly it seems that the didn't use this feature.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

I don't know the iPhone app, but if you can print a report that includes the DVD Profiler profile IDs, you can get your collection back (without personal information).

You are smart not to mess with your phone. Invelos probably has a utility that can access the iPhone local data files, or they can tell you how to sync with a new PC database without losing the iPhone data. Maybe submit a support ticket to see if they are willing to help.

Always be prepared for a hard drive failure, and constantly back up your collection. You never know when an HD failure can happen.

I had a hard drive that failed (bad sectors) just the other week. It was my first HD failure since 1996! I keep a mirror synced backup drive though, so I could just switch the drives very easily and didn't lose one bit of data.
