Hey guys,

I'm going to write a plugin that will allow the storage and display of alternate titles of any given profile.

Currently there are three built-in titles

Title: Refers to the cover of the DVD
Sort Title: Local field for sorting
Original Title: Refers to the onscreen title / title in the CoO

What I have in mind will serve several purposes:

a) You have a movie from non-English country A bought in non-English country B and you also want to store the title under which the movie is known internationally (usually an English title).

Example:

T: Cours, Lola, cours
OT: Lola rennt
IET: Run Lola Run

b) A movie was released under many a name over the decades and you just want to have all these in your DB.

c) Movies that have disputed original titles because users can't agree on the CoO

Le cinquième élément

What titles would you like to see?

I will try to implement a search engine as well, so users can actually search for "Taxi 4" and find "T4xI".

I'm surprised no one has done this before. While I don't have a use for it now, I remember a time when it would have come in handy and better than the system that I had set up.

Your idea for "International Title" is simply great.
It will come handy for Italian Western, Anime, Internationally produced films (House of Spirits, Fifth Element, ...) and many other occasions.

Thank you!
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

That is possible already.
Provided the user makes correct use of the 3 title fields we already have. The magic word here is "Sort Title".
