I think it was probably an oversight, or maybe the assumtion that the Wish List is typically way smaller than the main collection.

In that case, the following works well:

(1) Select the Wish List collection tab. If you don't have it already, right click on a column title and select "View Columns". Check the "Wish List Priority" to add the column to the collection view.
(2) Sort the column, "et voilà!"

If you need them flagged, and there are too many to do it manually, use the "flag above, flag below, invert flags" trick if necessary.
